Just what the Web needs. Another blogger. Why would you want to make “Let’s Talk Turkey” a regular blog stop? Well, first of all, see that pic in the header? That’s me. See that machete? Well, if that’s not intimidating enough….
That's me without the machete.
Seriously, if you are in a job search, this blog will bring you important and interesting information that will aid you in that search. I’m a recruiter, or headhunter — who specializes in digital and traditional media. Once I saw that folks were desperately in need of resume help, I opened up my own resume-writing business (if you’ll pardon the plug), where I have penned more than 500 resumes. My entire career has been in the media industry, having spent more than 10 years as a marketing executive for companies that include The New York Times Company, The Walt Disney Company, Primedia and Conde Nast.
My goal here is to give you some “behind-the-scenes” insight into the job search process. What works on an interview? What doesn’t? What works on a resume? What doesn’t? What are some of the wackiest, most ridiculous stories that I can share with you regarding some interviews I’ve had to withstand? Besides all of this, I plan on covering the media marketplace and the changes that are occurring in today’s rapidly evolving jobs landscape.
I plan on talking turkey, plain and simple. Make sure to talk with me. Drop me a note and tell me what you think. Ask me a question. Let’s make this a two-sided conversation.
Hi Jane, great to see your wit and humor in your About page, love it and hey, great personal branding too. Love your pic. So good to hear from you this week, and look fwd to talking soon.

Hiiii Jane,
Just finished reading your post about VisualCV trying to make a quick buck vis-a-vis spamming your Inbox with their affiliate partnerships. Sad that they would motivate candidates to pay for the services of people who already get paid $000s of dollars every time those same qualified professionals land a job, effectively lowering the candidates pay-scales. I won’t spam your comments page with my URL, but it’s in the entry box above, and I would love to hear your feedback on the site we’ve built to help job-seekers make the most of these trying times. Thanks for the great blog & keep up the good work.
Happy to connect anytime. =)

Hi,
What’s your last name Turkewitz?
I think your point regarding aol.com e-mail addresses is spot on. I’m writing a post that will reference yours.
Thanks,
Joe
Hi Jane
You’ve got another headhunter here, but my focus is investment banking. We share the same mission as to help job seekers. Appreciate your effort. Great job!
Anna
Hi Jane. Very impressed with ‘Turkey.’ Shocking what’s said on an interview. (Incidentally, you write, how I think
— with humor, truth and a hint of sarcasm.) Keep it up!
